The EMD GP38-2 was one of EMD’s most popular 4 axle locomotives built between 1972 and 1986. With over twenty-two hundred made, these 2,000 horsepower locomotives were, and still are used by many railroads across the world due to their versatility and traction performance. In our multi-volume series, we captured these non-turbo charged work horses on class one’s and short lines across the country. In Volume 1, C. Vision Productions documents the GP38-2s from the Canadian Pacific and the Kansas City Southern. Also included in this show are predecessor GP38AC’s on the Canadian Pacific, built in 1970 and 1971 .
