Product Details

The Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern Railroad began operations in 2014 over the west end of the former DM&E system. Since its inception, the RCP&E has made many positive changes in the operation and working environment, and has begun investing heavily in its equipment and physical plant. All of this has resulted in increased carloadings, as well as a happy, safe workforce. C. Vision Productions takes you on a tour of this dynamic railroad from one end to the other, visiting many of the route's best locations. Beginning in Tracy, Minnesota, we follow the mainline across the Huron, Pierre, and PRC Subdivisions, eventually leading us to Rapid City, South Dakota. We don't leave out the branch and secondary routes either, as the Mansfield, Onida, and Black Hills Subdivisions are also covered. RCP&E's SD40-2 fleet looks and sounds great, as the locomotives haul heavy trains of grain, ethanol, bentonite clay, and cement across the railroad. From the glacial lakes and prairies of the east, to the river valleys and Black Hills of the west, the railroad travels through some diverse and surprisingly impressive scenery. Don't miss this look at the Midwest's newest regional railroad, in C. Vision Productions' "Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern, a South Dakota Success".
