Join C. Vision Productions as our cameras head trackside around Chicago in
Windy City Rails, Volume 9 - "Downtown to the Airport #2." As the name implies, our
second installment will continue to examine locations near Downtown Chicago and the
very busy network of rails that comprise the near northwest side of the city, many
within a short distance of O'Hare International Airport. Along the way you will witness
urban Class 1 switchers earning their keep, view high-density passenger railroading
on Chicago’s near south side, and even catch some passenger specials along the way,
at some locations that are "off limits" to the casual railfan photographer. The near
northwest side of town is rife with the colorful action of roads Canadian Pacific,
Canadian National, Union Pacific and Metra. Canadian Pacific’s use of a short stretch
of Union Pacific’s Milwaukee Subdivison brings a lot of variety and traffic density to the
northwest side. CN’s former Wisconsin Central Waukesha Sub. also has a nice variety
of moves, from stacks and general freights to the passenger moves of Metra.
Along the way, see new “heritage” paint schemes from Norfolk Southern and Amtrak,
as well as the faded old liveries from BC Rail, Soo Line and even a little bit of
Milwaukee Road orange and black. Two and a half years of footage have gone into this
production, be sure not to miss it! Freights, locals, passengers and passenger specials
can all be found in Windy City Rails, Volume 9 "From Downtown to the Airport #2".
